Short Game - Chipping

There are two simple keys to remember when chipping to ensure a crisp contact with enough backspin to control the shot:
Ball Back, the ball must be played back in the stance, to do this stand with your feet 4-6 inches apart and aiming slightly open (left of target for a right handed player) and then position the ball opposite your back foot.
Hands and Weight Forward, 60 to 70 % of your weight should favour your front foot and your hands should be positioned opposite your front thigh.

These points will improve the strike on your chip shots provided that you control the stroke with the large muscles and just 'rock' your shoulders to hit chip shots in the same way as you would to hit a putt.
